Does this guy like me?

So there's this really cute guy in my class that I sit next to and I'm starting to grow feelings for him like I want to get to know him more and possibly start dating (that kind of thing). We talk, joke around and we think alike. Everytime we talk about something funny or whatever, he smiles for a good 3 seconds when were done that conversation and the same thing happens to me! The thing is, hes shy and i dont know if he likes me or not. He jokingly criticizes my artwork, touches and fiddles with my stuff, puts his feet on my chair, voluntarily helps me with things (like finding something, etc.) and he's just so nice and charming! He's a gentleman. BUT there's a catch. He has a thing with this other girl. Apparently she's liked him for a while and i guess she approached him first and i feel like he's kinda going along with it but growing feelings for her at the same time. And, he's also never really had a girlfriend. My question is, do you think he likes me? And are there any ways I can win him over and have him break out of his shell? I'm also a shy kind of person like him but I'm willing to take risks! Where do I go from here?! I need help! Thanks!
